Senator Risa Hontiveros warned Bamban Mayor Alice Guo of Tarlac that she faces possible arrest after indicating she would skip a Senate inquiry into an illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) hub.
Hontiveros emphasized that failing to honor the subpoena could lead to an arrest order. She urged Guo to attend the hearing without drama and advised her to speak truthfully about her involvement in Pogo activities.
The Senate committee, chaired by Hontiveros, had issued summonses to Guo, her siblings, and business partners for the July 10 hearing.
Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections has initiated an inquiry into potential election offenses related to Guo’s candidacy in 2022, focusing on possible misrepresentations in her certificate of candidacy.
