HISTORIC MOMENT: DELGACO BECOMES FIRST FILIPINA ROWER TO QUALIFY FOR OLYMPICS!

Joanie Delgaco makes history as the first female rower from the Philippines to qualify for the Olympics, securing her spot in the Paris Games.

Delgaco’s achievement comes after she finished fourth in the women’s single sculls Final A at the World Rowing Asian and Oceanian Qualification Regatta in Chungju, South Korea.

Clocking 7:49.39, she secured one of the five Paris berths available in the event.

Delgaco joins a select group of Filipino rowers to qualify for the Olympics, including Edgardo Maerina, Benjamin Tolentino Jr., and Cris Nievarez.

Delgaco expressed her surprise and gratitude for her accomplishment, highlighting the hard work that led to her success.

She will join other Filipino athletes in a month-long training camp in Metz, France, before competing in the Paris Olympics.
