Dismissed Bulacan First District assistant engineer Brice Hernandez may implicate up to four more senators in the alleged budget insertions and kickback scheme, his lawyer Raymond Fortun said.
Hernandez has already named Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva, claiming he prepared commissions for them tied to P355 million and P600 million in insertions, respectively, which matched actual budget allocations confirmed by Sen. Ping Lacson.
Fortun said a clearer picture may emerge once Hernandez’s desktop computer, now set for DOJ turnover, is examined.
He added that Hernandez has also named several House lawmakers, including Rep. Elizaldy Co and former Rep. Mitch Cajayon-Uy, while voluntarily surrendering luxury cars and documents to show his willingness to cooperate.
The NBI is expected to file indirect bribery and malversation charges, with the AMLC already freezing the assets of the implicated official.
