Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, has formally asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) to dismiss tax evasion, falsification, and graft complaints filed against her.
Guo attended a preliminary DOJ probe to file counter-affidavits denying the allegations, including a P500,000 tax evasion claim from the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Her legal counsel argued that Guo is a Filipino citizen and denied any wrongdoing related to falsified documents or graft in permit issuance during her tenure as mayor.
Guo faces several other cases, including qualified trafficking and material misrepresentation, with hearings continuing in various courts.
Currently, she is detained at Pasig City Jail while awaiting further proceedings.
