GUIGUINTO RAMPS UP ENFORCEMENT AGAINST OVERLOADED VEHICLES

The Guiguinto local government in Bulacan has intensified efforts against overloaded trucks to prevent road damage along the Manila North Road.

Mayor Agatha Paula Cruz ordered stricter enforcement of Republic Act 8794, leading to a 2-kilometer traffic buildup during inspections on September 15.

The crackdown aims to protect roads from the heavy loads that cause frequent damage, not to generate revenue from fines, according to Cruz.

The initiative includes 24/7 anti-overloading checkpoints, enhancing police presence in the community.

Local officials, including Rep. Ambrosio Cruz Jr., praised the effort, emphasizing the need to prioritize road safety and sustainability.
