A graft complaint has been filed against Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto with the Office of the Ombudsman, alleging that he granted a 100% tax discount to Converge ICT Solutions, Inc.
The 17-page complaint, submitted by Ethelmart Austria Cruz, accuses Sotto of grave misconduct and dishonesty, citing discrepancies between the company’s declared and actual office space and employee numbers.
Reports indicate that Converge, which was assessed a total tax liability of over PHP 5 million, misrepresented its operations and was granted a full tax discount by Sotto.
Cruz argues that this action violates the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act by providing unwarranted benefits.
Mayor Sotto dismissed the complaint, stating that such filings do not carry significance.
