Quezon Governor Angelina Tan launched the STAND UP Quezon party to consolidate support for the 2025 elections, aiming to address poverty and promote unity in the province.
Tan, serving as the party president, inaugurated the new political entity in Gumaca town, with 226 incumbent local officials taking membership oaths.
The party’s agenda, HEALING (health, education, agriculture, livelihood, infrastructure, environment, tourism, and good governance), underscores Tan’s commitment to provincial development.
The event was attended by key figures including former Senate President Tito Sotto III, signaling an alliance with the Nationalist People’s Coalition.
Tan’s political maneuvering is seen as a challenge to the Suarez clan’s dominance in Quezon politics, following her decisive victory in the 2022 elections against former Governor Danilo Suarez.
