Sen. Bong Go called for the suspension of deliberations on the Department of Health (DoH) and Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) budgets until the agencies formalized their commitments to serving poor patients.
Go demanded written commitment letters from both agencies before approving the proposed 2025 health budget.
He reminded PhilHealth of their promises to improve healthcare accessibility and asked for a signed letter ensuring they fulfill those pledges.
Go also insisted that the DoH commits in writing to maintaining sufficient funding for Malasakit Centers.
These centers, established under Republic Act 11463, provide financial and medical support to millions of Filipinos.
