In his fourth State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. vowed a sweeping crackdown on corrupt government officials and contractors behind substandard and ghost flood control projects, warning that charges will be filed next month.
Marcos also tackled the unresolved case of 34 missing cockfighting enthusiasts, pledging to bring to justice all responsible, regardless of power or wealth.
Addressing growing water and drug-related issues, he warned negligent water providers and corrupt government personnel involved in the illegal drug trade that accountability is coming.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s focus on food security, announcing the nationwide expansion of the ₱20/kilo rice program, increased support for farmers and fishers, and intensified efforts against smugglers and price manipulators.
He also promised more job opportunities, support for local industries, and expanded social services, including the inclusion of homeless Filipinos in 4Ps and DSWD programs.
