Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. welcomed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to ensuring the full success of the Bangsamoro parliamentary election scheduled for October 13, 2025.
To support this, Marcos decided to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections to next year, allowing the Commission on Elections and security forces to focus on the Bangsamoro region.
Galvez emphasized that the upcoming polls mark a historic milestone, fulfilling the promise of a transition to a representative government as part of the 2014 peace deal with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity will partner with COMELEC and other agencies to conduct information campaigns to prepare journalists for safe and accurate election coverage.
Galvez emphasized the significance of these elections for the peace process, ensuring that the Bangsamoro people can elect leaders who will be accountable to them.
