Several former senators filed their certificates of candidacy (CoCs) on Monday as they aim to return to the Senate.
Among them, boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is campaigning on an anti-corruption platform after serving one term from 2016 to 2022.
Gringo Honasan, who vacated his Senate seat in 2018 to serve as the Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, is also seeking to regain his position.
Bam Aquino, who lost his Senate seat in the 2019 elections, is optimistic about his chances and plans to enhance his campaign through social media engagement.
Additionally, other notable candidates include action star Bong Revilla, who is running for reelection, and retired Marine Col. Ariel Querubin, who aims to advocate for the Philippines’ territorial rights in the West Philippine Sea.
