Former Makati mayor Abby Binay criticized the city government’s official Facebook page for wrongly crediting her father, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, with establishing the University of Makati School of Law (UMak SOL).
She clarified that the law school was actually founded during her term as mayor in 2017.
The city page had posted about a visit by Mayor Nancy Binay and Jejomar Binay, highlighting Jejomar’s role in setting up the law school and his current position as Dean Emeritus.
However, UMak SOL’s official records confirm that the school was accredited and opened under Abby Binay’s administration.
Abby called on the city page to correct the information and give credit where it is due.
