FORMER DPWH SECRETARY BONOAN TRANSFERRED TO A PRIVATE HOSPITAL FOR INTENSIVE CARDIAC MONITORING

Former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan was transferred from the Philippine National Police General Hospital (PNPGH) to a private hospital on Tuesday evening for closer monitoring of his heart condition after experiencing repeated spikes in blood pressure.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the 80-year-old former Cabinet official required specialized medical tests not available at PNPGH following his arrest and initial treatment.

Authorities noted that his arraignment was postponed after his condition temporarily stabilized, but was later reset after another rise in blood pressure.

The PNP assured the public that Bonoan remains under custody and that court procedures are being strictly observed alongside medical care.

Police officials also emphasized that no special treatment is being given and that transparency and security measures are in place.
