Manuel Bonoan, former DPWH secretary linked to the flood control scandal, has returned to the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration reported.
He arrived Sunday morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Taipei, Taiwan, traveling alone.
Bonoan is under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order due to alleged negligence related to overpriced and nonexistent flood control projects.
He left for the United States on November 11 amid the ongoing investigation to assist his wife with a medical procedure.
His return, originally expected in December 2025, was delayed due to his wife’s health complications and a requested one-month extension in the U.S.
