The filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections will start on Monday and run until November 9.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair George Garcia announced that additional military and police forces are being deployed to ensure a peaceful filing process.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining order during this period, urging candidates to manage their supporters responsibly.
Along with COCs, the Comelec will also accept filings for the List of Nominees and Certificates of Acceptance of Nomination for regional parliamentary political parties.
A total of 73 parliamentary seats will be contested in the first BARMM Parliamentary Elections, scheduled for May 12, 2025, coinciding with national and local elections in other regions.
