EX-COPS HELD ON GUN CHARGES IN PAMPANGA SLAYING CASE

Two former policemen were arrested for illegal possession of firearms in connection to the abduction and murder of beauty pageant candidate Geneva Lopez and her Israeli boyfriend Yitshak Cohen.

Dismissed policeman Michael Angelo Guiang, identified as the middleman in the couple’s alleged land deal, and former policeman Rommel Abuza were detained after a search warrant revealed firearms and explosives in their possession.

The couple’s decomposing bodies were found in a remote quarry in Capas, Tarlac, two weeks after their disappearance. Reports suggest they went to Tarlac to discuss a land transaction, but conflicting statements imply a possible debt repayment issue.

The National Bureau of Investigation confirmed both victims died from gunshot wounds, and the Israeli Embassy is assisting in repatriating Cohen’s remains.
