Vice President Sara Duterte was accused by her alleged former “bagman” Ramil Madriaga of spending P125 million in confidential funds in less than 24 hours, during testimony before the House Committee on Justice.
In a supplemental affidavit, Madriaga claimed the funds were delivered through coordinated cash transfers in December 2022, involving multiple locations and officials linked to the Office of the Vice President and other agencies.
He further alleged that the money was transported in bundled cash and handed over to various recipients under Duterte’s instructions, claims that her camp strongly denied and called fraudulent.
The Commission on Audit also told lawmakers that a separate P73.2-million portion of the confidential funds has been disallowed and must be returned.
The testimony adds further intensity to ongoing impeachment-related scrutiny over the alleged misuse of OVP confidential funds.
