The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Korean fugitive Jang Seong Woong, wanted since 2017 for kidnapping and serious physical injury in Daegu City, South Korea.
Jang was captured at his condominium in Pasay by the NBI-Organized and Transnational Crimes Division and the Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit.
He entered the Philippines as a tourist in May 2017, shortly after allegedly assaulting a victim over gambling debts with his gang.
Jang initially complied with immigration reporting but stopped in 2020, allowing him to stay undetected until now.
Authorities are currently preparing his deportation back to South Korea.
