EDCA SITES ACTIVATED FOR STORM RELIEF UNDER MARCOS ORDER

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the activation of Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites across the Philippines to support relief and rescue operations in areas affected by Tropical Storm Kristine.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will use these sites to airlift relief supplies, personnel, and equipment, especially in regions with impassable roads.

The President assured the public that the government is ready to provide aid and that departments are prepared to address the storm’s impacts.

The AFP is also coordinating with the United States and neighboring Southeast Asian countries for additional airlift and manpower assistance.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has prepositioned food packs and will distribute water filtration kits to affected areas.
