An unidentified group of around 500 rallyists aboard about 30 vehicles occupied portions of EDSA and White Plains Avenue early Tuesday, prompting the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to implement road closures and traffic management measures.
The group reportedly marched from EDSA-Corinthian northbound to EDSA-White Plains northbound at around 3:48 a.m.
Police personnel were deployed to maintain peace and order, while MMDA traffic enforcers managed the flow of vehicles in affected areas.
White Plains Avenue in both directions was temporarily closed as the procession continued through key sections of Metro Manila, reaching EDSA-Reliance northbound and EDSA-Kamuning Flyover southbound by 5:40 a.m.
Motorists were advised to expect heavy traffic and take alternate routes whenever possible.
