The Department of Justice (DOJ) in the Philippines has stated that there has been no communication between the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Philippine government regarding the possible arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla reiterated this stance, emphasizing the absence of contact from the ICC on the matter.
Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra also confirmed that he has no information about any supposed warrant. Meanwhile, former Duterte administration spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque claimed to have received a call from the former president regarding a possible arrest.
Roque also mentioned information he received about the disbandment of Task Force Davao. However, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) dismissed both claims, stating that there are no orders to disband the task force.
The Eastern Mindanao Command clarified that there were no directives from higher authorities to alter Task Force Davao’s current mandate.
