DRUG TESTING NOW REQUIRED FOR JOB APPLICANTS IN ILOILO CITY

The Iloilo City government has mandated mandatory drug testing for all new hires at city hall, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

This directive follows the arrest of Chad Vincent Jaruda, a job hire at the Office of the LGBT Affairs, during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Our Lady of Fatima.

Jaruda, along with several others, was caught dealing illegal drugs, and the operation also led to the seizure of 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000.

Mayor Treñas emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for drug use among employees and warned that those caught will face immediate termination. He reaffirmed his support for the anti-drug campaign led by the Philippine National Police.
