Former Senator Franklin Drilon called the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) a “dead” body, saying it can no longer function due to the President’s inaction.
With only its chairman, retired SC Justice Andres Reyes Jr., remaining, Drilon urged that the ICI be abolished.
He noted that recent resignations, including Commissioners Rossana Fajardo and Babes Singson, left the body effectively defunct.
Drilon added that the ICI’s role is largely recommendatory, with flood control investigations falling under the Ombudsman, DOJ, and COA.
He maintained that the commission can be legally abolished even without the Independent People’s Commission Act.
