The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will host three major job fairs this September, aimed at addressing the rising unemployment rate.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma announced that the events will take place on September 13 at Robinsons Malls nationwide, September 18 to 20 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, and September 19 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center, also in Pasay City.
This initiative comes in response to the Philippine Statistics Authority’s report of an increase in the unemployment rate from 3.1% in June to 4.7% in July, and a decrease in the number of employed Filipinos from 50.28 million to 47.70 million.
The job fairs aim to provide more employment opportunities to job seekers across the country.
