The Department of Justice (DOJ) is confident that a new simplified visa processing for cruise visitors will enhance tourism in the Philippines.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla praised the Cruise Visa Waiver Program, which aims to streamline entry for cruise ship tourists, as a significant boost to the country’s tourism economy.
Implemented through Immigration Memorandum Circular No. 2024-001, the program was approved on March 14, 2024, and officially launched on July 16 in Pasay City.
In collaboration with the Bureau of Immigration and the Department of Tourism, the initiative seeks to make the Philippines a top cruise and tourist destination.
Remulla encouraged global visitors to explore and share the country’s natural beauty and culture.
