The Department of Health (DOH) has recognized the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for deploying personnel to assist hospitals and communities affected by flooding.
DOH Acting Secretary Edwin Mercado thanked the organization for sending teams to areas experiencing heavy patient loads, including San Lazaro Hospital.
The Red Cross also provided assistance to flood-affected communities where additional medical support was needed.
PRC Chairman Richard Gordon said the deployment reflected the organization’s role as an auxiliary to the government during emergencies.
The Philippine Red Cross pledged to continue working with the DOH and its partners to support health workers and deliver assistance to affected Filipinos.
