DILG LAUNCHES FREE DIGITAL RECORDS SYSTEM FOR ALL LGUS

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has launched the Document Management System for Local Government Units (DMS4LGUs), a nationwide digital platform designed to modernize records management across all local government units.

Developed under the Local Government Unified Support System–Cities and Municipalities Information Management System (LGUSS-CMIMS), the platform will be provided free of charge to help digitize, centralize, and securely manage official government records.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the system replaces paper-based processes with a more efficient digital platform that will improve records management, speed up transactions, and strengthen coordination among LGU offices.

The department said the initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and public access to government services through digital innovation.

Before its nationwide rollout, the platform underwent consultations and pilot testing in selected provinces, cities, and municipalities to ensure its effectiveness.
