The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is investigating claims that former senator Ramon Revilla Jr. is receiving special treatment at Quezon City Jail.
Reports suggested Revilla was staying in an air-conditioned room separate from other inmates.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla clarified that Revilla is in a regular, non-airconditioned cell, separated from co-accused officials Brice Hernandez, Arjay Domasig, and Juanito Mendoza.
The separation is reportedly due to personal animosities to ensure safety, not preferential treatment.
Revilla faces graft and malversation cases related to a P92.8 million ghost flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
