Starting September 1, the Philippine judiciary will begin transitioning to electronic filing (e-Filing) for civil cases in first and second-level courts.
Supreme Court spokesperson Camille Ting announced that court submissions must include an electronic PDF version sent via email.
This move is part of the eCourt System Version 2.0, a major element of the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027.
The Supreme Court en banc approved the e-Filing guidelines on August 20. This initiative aims to modernize court processes and improve efficiency.
