DBM FUN RUN DRAWS 4K RUNNERS, PROCEEDS GO TO THE PHILIPPINE RED CROSS

Approximately 4,000 participants joined the inaugural Open Government Partnership (OGP) Fun Run organized by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) at Quirino Grandstand in Manila on January 26, 2025.

The event, co-organized with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), aimed to promote open governance and support humanitarian efforts.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized that the ultimate goal of open government is to foster greater trust between the people and the government.

The fun run offered 3K, 5K, and 10K race categories, with proceeds benefiting the PRC’s disaster response, blood services, and community resilience programs.

The event also served as a precursor to the Philippine-hosted OGP Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting scheduled for February 5 to 7, 2025.
