The Department of Agriculture (DA) has launched the Agricultural Cooperative Enterprise Development Services (ACED Services) to enhance support for agricultural cooperatives across the country.
This initiative aims to empower farmers and fishers, increase their incomes, and promote modern farming technologies, according to Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.
ACED Services, led by Agriculture Undersecretary Roger Navarro, will provide training and extension services to cooperatives and agricultural entrepreneurs, collaborating with various government agencies and organizations.
The unit will also oversee project implementation to address developmental gaps and facilitate the transition of pre-cooperatives into established cooperatives.
Additionally, ACED Services will focus on digital transformation, encouraging the use of data analytics and online marketplaces to boost productivity and resilience in the agricultural sector.
