Karlo Nograles has officially resigned as chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to seek public office in Davao City, although he has not yet disclosed which position he intends to run for.
In his resignation letter to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the difficulty of leaving the agency.
Nograles emphasized his commitment to promoting integrity and efficiency within the civil service during his tenure and expressed confidence in the CSC’s future capabilities.
Under his leadership, the CSC achieved significant reforms, including the recognition of outstanding civil servants and enhancements in public engagement and digitalization.
Before heading the CSC, Nograles served three terms as a congressional representative for Davao City’s 1st District and was instrumental in passing key legislation such as the Green Jobs Act and the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
