The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) condemned the proliferation of fake PWD IDs, which cause an estimated ₱110 billion in tax losses and trivialize the struggles of genuine PWDs. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is developing a unified ID system, while the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has initiated crackdowns to curb these fraudulent activities.
