Confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa is willing to testify before the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during the Duterte administration’s drug war, potentially linking former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ronald dela Rosa to the killings.
Espinosa’s lawyer, Neri Colmenares, emphasized the need for a sworn statement before Espinosa could be considered a material witness.
Duterte has expressed his willingness to appear before the House Quad committee investigating the drug war and Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) if invited, though he doubts the investigation’s outcome.
The House committee has also extended a standing invitation to Duterte and Dela Rosa for questioning regarding EJKs and drug-related allegations.
Duterte reiterated his support for police and military officials facing legal challenges due to their involvement in his drug war.
