The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will include the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in the voter registration activities for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
This decision aims to prevent disenfranchisement, especially of young people aged 15 to 17, who can now register to vote in the SK elections.
Voter registration nationwide, including BARMM, is scheduled from July 1 to 11, pending approval by the Comelec en banc.
BARMM was initially excluded due to the October 13 Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections (BPE), but new registrants will not be allowed to vote in that election.
The BSKE is set for December 1, 2025, under Comelec Resolution No. 11132.
