Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia said the poll body will evaluate the merits of a motion for reconsideration filed in a recently dismissed case due to a procedural lapse—specifically, the petitioner’s failure to furnish the respondent a copy of the petition.
Garcia clarified that the dismissal was based on a technicality, not substance.
Meanwhile, a separate and more complex disqualification case against Duterte Youth remains pending.
Garcia explained that this case delves deeper into core issues of party-list accreditation.
The Comelec Second Division is expected to release a ruling on it soon.
