COMELEC NOW AT FULL STRENGTH WITH NEW COMMISSIONERS

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Maria Norina Tangaro-Casingal and Noli Pipo as new Comelec commissioners, completing the seven-member en banc ahead of the May 12 elections.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia welcomed their appointments, emphasizing their expertise in election laws and long experience within the commission.

Casingal, a veteran Comelec lawyer, will serve until 2032 and join the First Division, while Pipo, a seasoned election officer, will be part of the Second Division.

Their appointments are ad interim, allowing them to assume office immediately but requiring confirmation by the Commission on Appointments once Congress resumes on June 2.

Garcia said their presence would help address election-related challenges in the coming months.
