The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will introduce night voter registration starting July 1 to encourage broader participation in the December barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the enhanced Register Anywhere Program (RAP) will bring registration services to airports, seaports, call centers, and other high-traffic areas during nighttime.
Around one million new registrants are expected in the 11-day registration period, which includes applications for new registration, reactivation, and transfer.
Garcia emphasized that night registration aims to remove excuses for not registering and will also be used more extensively in 2026.
He also reminded candidates that the June 11 deadline for filing Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) is final, warning of consequences for non-compliance.
