Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia alleged on Friday that bribery accusations against him are part of a coordinated effort to discredit the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Garcia described the campaign as having multiple phases, including plans to target individual commissioners and potentially impeach all Comelec members.
He claimed the campaign is supported by “troll farms” and asserted his innocence, noting that the bribery allegations have not been made under oath.
Former Caloocan congressman Edgar Erice had claimed that a bribe was involved in a contract with South Korean firm Miru Systems for automated counting machines.
Miru Systems condemned the allegations as baseless and expressed its commitment to cooperating with investigations while continuing to provide accessible election solutions.
