The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended the printing of ballots for the Bangsamoro Parliament Elections (BPE) due to recent developments.
Chairperson George Garcia cited the potential need to reopen the filing of candidacies if redistricting occurs.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has urgently certified a bill postponing the BARMM elections, with the Senate and House versions proposing different dates.
While the House wants the elections in May 2026, the Senate version suggests moving them to August 2025.
Comelec will proceed only with printing ballots for the May 12 national and local elections while awaiting a final decision.
