BURNHAM LAKE REHABILITATION 80% COMPLETE, TURNOVER SET FOR AUGUST

The rehabilitation of Burnham Lake is now more than 80 percent complete and is on track for turnover to the Baguio City government in August, according to Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) chief operating officer Mark Lapid.

The project has entered its final stage, with landscaping and the restoration of water in the lake expected to be finished before the scheduled turnover.

The lake rehabilitation is part of TIEZA’s P500-million redevelopment of Burnham Park, which also includes upgrades to the children’s playground, Rose Garden, and surrounding areas.

Lapid said preparations are underway for the project’s second phase, with the full redevelopment targeted for completion next year.

The initiative aims to modernize one of Baguio City’s most iconic tourist attractions while preserving its historical, cultural, and environmental significance.
