Former lawmaker Bong Revilla will be detained at the Quezon City jail in Payatas following the issuance of a warrant of arrest over his malversation charge.
The Sandiganbayan said his stay there is temporary pending a January 23 hearing on his request to be transferred to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
The anti-graft court cited concerns raised by PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, who warned that further transfers to the facility strain police budget and personnel.
Revilla posted P90,000 bail for his graft case, although his malversation case remains non-bailable.
The charges stem from the alleged non-existent PHP92.8 million flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.
