BATO QUESTIONED OVER POLICE “ALLOWANCE” DURING DRUG WAR

Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante questioned Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa about the legality of additional “allowances” given to police officers during the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.

Dela Rosa recently disclosed that the funds were funneled through Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, raising concerns about transparency.

Abante expressed suspicion that taxpayer money was used as incentives for police to kill drug suspects and demanded clarification on how these allowances were monitored.

Dela Rosa claimed the funds were for operational needs like meals and transport, but Abante stressed the need for accountability.

The House quad committee will seek confirmation from the Anti-Money Laundering Council regarding related allegations.
