Actress Gretchen Barretto submitted her counter-affidavit during the preliminary investigation into the disappearance of 34 sabungeros.
At the hearing on September 18 at the Department of Justice, Barretto, accompanied by her lawyer, denied any involvement in the case, calling the accusations unsubstantiated and lacking credibility.
Barretto did not comment further but expressed trust in the fairness of the investigation.
The whistleblower, Julie Patidongan, and families of the missing sabungeros also attended the hearing, with the next session scheduled for September 29.
Prosecutors will evaluate the evidence after all affidavits are submitted to determine if the case will proceed or be dismissed.
