Officials in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are intensifying the implementation of two key long-term programs: the Regional Plan of Action for Children (RPAC) and the Comprehensive Regional Juvenile Intervention Program (CRJIP).
A recent three-day strategic review aimed to align these programs with national frameworks to better protect the rights and welfare of children and juveniles across BARMM’s five provinces and three cities.
The Ministry of Social Services and Development-BARMM, the Ministry of Labor and Employment-BARMM, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) are collaborating to combat child labor and prevent the use of children as combatants in conflict-affected areas.
Over the past two years, multi-sector efforts have rescued 635 child laborers and worked to resolve 37 clan wars that contribute to the recruitment of child combatants.
BARMM officials expressed gratitude for the support from the ILO and other humanitarian partners in advancing these protective programs for vulnerable youth.
