BAGUIO RECEIVES P5 MILLION FOR COMMUNITY DRUG REHABILITATION FACILITY

The Baguio City government has received P5 million in financial assistance from the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) to upgrade a section of the Mines View Barangay multi-purpose building into a Bahay Silangan community-based drug treatment and rehabilitation facility.

The funding, covered by a memorandum of agreement between the DDB and the city government, will be used exclusively for the project’s enhancement and rehabilitation.

Under the agreement, the city must complete the project in accordance with government standards, submit regular progress and liquidation reports, and finish construction within one year unless an extension is approved.

The DDB will closely monitor the implementation and require the return of any unused funds after the project’s completion.

The initiative aims to strengthen Baguio City’s community-based drug rehabilitation program in support of the country’s anti-illegal drugs strategy.
