BACOLOD LGU CALLS FOR A ‘BETTER BACOLOD’ AS CITY MARKS 85TH CHARTER DAY

On June 18, 2023, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez urged the Bacolodnons to contribute to the city’s progress and work towards a “better Bacolod,” on the occasion of Bacolod City’s 85th Charter Day celebration.

He highlighted the city’s resilient journey and remarkable growth and expressed his vision of Bacolod becoming a “super city” characterized by a diversified economy, skilled human resources, green development, and a good governance model.

During the ceremony, Mayor Benitez presented the prestigious “Ang Banwahanon Award” to four individuals who have significantly contributed to the people and the community. 

Additionally, the newly introduced “I’ll Be the Change Award” honored individuals who have made a profound impact through acts of kindness, unwavering commitment, and exceptional service, recognizing them as the driving force behind the positive transformation in Bacolod.

With a promising future ahead, Bacolod City aims to thrive and provide opportunities for prosperity to its residents, as they collectively work towards a city that all Bacolodnons can be proud of.
