Australia will provide the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) with an additional PHP110 million worth of drones and maritime domain awareness technology, including training and integration support, over the next few years.
This aid builds on a previous PHP34 million package of drones and operator training delivered earlier this year.
The assistance is part of Australia’s broader civil maritime cooperation with the Philippines, which also includes vessel remediation, scholarships, and law enforcement training.
Australia is also enhancing cyber capacity-building support for the PCG to help combat maritime and cyber threats.
From 2025 to 2029, Australia plans to double its civil maritime cooperation funding with the Philippines to PHP649 million.
