Actress Angel Aquino condemned the use of deepfake videos, calling them a violation of women’s rights during a Senate hearing on September 4.
She revealed she was a victim of deepfake pornography, describing the experience as nauseating, confusing, and deeply humiliating.
Aquino emphasized that being a public figure does not give others the right to demean or harass her through such content.
Content creator Queen Hera also shared her distress after her daughter’s photo was maliciously edited and circulated online.
Aquino urged authorities to take strict action against perpetrators, platforms, and websites that enable the spread of deepfake material, highlighting the widespread harm caused by such abuses.
