On July 18, Secretary Sonny Angara pledged to build upon the initiatives of the previous administration and advance reforms in the basic education sector during his turnover ceremony as the new Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary.
Angara expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized his commitment to enhancing educational programs and quality.
He acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Secretary Sara Duterte and other DepEd officials, promising to leverage their work as a foundation for future projects.
Angara, who begins his term on July 19, called for collaborative efforts to improve education in the Philippines.
In her farewell speech, Duterte humorously welcomed Angara to DepEd and encouraged the same support she received to be extended to her successor.
